The Vendor Management team acts as the primary point of contact for the firm’s suppliers, ensuring effective flow of information between internal and external stakeholders, accurate maintenance of vendor master data and timely resolution of disputes. This role is a critical part of our AP process, strengthening our supplier relationships and ensuring smooth and accurate payments.

 

We are looking for a new Accounts Payable Manager to lead the team at our headquarters in Malta. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with genuine interest in managing vendors/suppliers, an accounts payable team, and the aviation sector as part of a growing international business.

Your Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage the Vendor Management team.
  • Develop and implement Vendor management strategies and processes.
  • Ensure vendor data accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex vendor issues and disputes.
  • Collaborating with other AP team managers to ensure seamless operations.
  • Provide regular reports on vendor performance.
  • Define and report on KPIs that measure performance of the team.
  • Embed ethos of continuous improvement within the team.
  • Ensure compliance with the firm’s relevant financial policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and actively participate in the completion of annual audits.

Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a vendor relationship management or accounts payable role.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly organized with excellent communication skills & relationship building.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Able to work in a highly pressurized, dynamic and entrepreneurial environment.
  • Ability to handle complex issues and provide effective solutions.
  • Proficiency in AP Automation, Purchasing and ERP Systems, SoftCo & SAP preferred but not essential.
