The Financial Controller will act as a strategic advisor to the global maintenance function within Vista, providing financial oversight and analysis for a complex multi-entity, multi-jurisdictional environment. The role is responsible for ensuring the financial health and efficiency of maintenance operations across a global scale, aligning financial strategies with the business objectives of the maintenance teams. This role plays a pivotal part in supporting the ongoing operations, compliance, and optimization of maintenance-related expenditures and investments.

 

This position can be based in our Malta, or London offices. 

Your Responsibilities

Business Partnering:

  • Collaborate closely with the global maintenance leadership teams to provide financial insights, analysis, and support for decision-making across multiple legal entities.
  • Act as a key financial advisor to the maintenance function, ensuring alignment of financial strategies with operational goals, including cost management, capital expenditure, and asset lifecycle planning.
  • Build strong relationships with senior leaders across Vista’s global maintenance teams to understand and anticipate their financial needs.
  • Provide strategic analysis and financial modeling to evaluate and optimize maintenance costs, identifying opportunities for efficiencies across different entities and regions.

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):

  • Lead the preparation, consolidation, and analysis of financial plans, budgets, and forecasts for maintenance activities across different jurisdictions.
  • Analyze and report on global maintenance costs, including aircraft maintenance, repair, overhaul (MRO) services, and other operational expenses.
  • Support financial planning for maintenance capital investments, such as infrastructure, technology upgrades, and asset procurement, ensuring a return on investment.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals who are dedicated to supporting the maintenance function globally.
  • Ensure the development of finance staff, promoting best practices and knowledge sharing across entities.

 

Performs any other tasks reasonably required to be undertaken in accordance with the instructions of the Reporting Manager.

Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA, CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent certification is preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in finance roles, with at least 3+ years in a business partnering capacity supporting operational functions (maintenance, engineering, or similar).
  • Strong experience working in a multi-entity, global organization with a complex regulatory environment.
  • Proven track record in managing financial performance for large-scale, capital-intensive operations such as maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) or industrial operations.
  • You enjoy working in a highly pressured, dynamic, entrepreneurial environment, keen to engage as required by a growing business.
  • Proven track record of leading large, cross-functional, and geographically dispersed teams.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior leadership and global teams.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with a results-oriented approach.
