We are looking for a Junior Legal Counsel to join our legal team in Malta. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of Europe's fastest growing companies.

Your Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review various contracts, including employment contracts, procurement & operational agreements, NDAs, and any other required contracts.
  • Draft policy documents and proposals, as well as review and amend existing policies with a goal to improving their effect.
  • Offer legal guidance and support to all departments within the organization in various areas, including, procurement, aviation, and employment, amongst others.
  • Stay informed on the industry developments across the globe, most particularly within the EU/EEA region, that are of interest and/or likely to affect the company's operations.
  • Assist with management of company’s contract database.
  • Liaise with authorities and outsourced law firms as necessary.
  • Assist the Corporate legal team and the company secretary with corporate matters and documentation, including KYC and other due diligence requests.
  • Support the wider Vista legal team, including our US-based colleagues, with projects touching on a variety of legal and business matters.

Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

  • Qualified lawyer, preferably with a warrant to practice in Malta.
  • At least 1 year professional practice as a lawyer. Familiarity with employment law and corporate law is a plus, but not a necessity. Training will be provided.
  • Reliable, organised, meticulous attention to detail and prepared to work under pressure.
  • A team player while still being able to work independently when needed.
  • Willing to take initiative and get involved in different - including unfamiliar - projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts to non-legal professionals effectively.
  • High ethical standards and professional integrity in dealing with sensitive and confidential information and dependability with a strong sense of urgency.
