We are looking for a Junior Accountant to join our Accounting team based in Hamburg, reporting into the Director of Financial Reporting & Accounting. Our team is responsible for the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual IFRS financial accounts as well as for local standalone financial statements and external reporting for all entities in Germany.

Your Responsibilities

  • Extracting data from different sources, creating models to support monthly closing activities including but not limited to different types of accruals.
  • Provide data-analysis for management.
  • Building models to support regulatory reporting;
  • Supporting with balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Assisting with any queries raised by the Group Consolidation team and performing ad-hoc analysis as required.
  • Supporting with audit queries and with preparation of financial reporting.
  • Assist in documenting and updating of internal processes and procedures as necessary.

Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

  • A minimum 1-2 years’ experience within a similar role, preferably within an international organisation.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, experience of working with a high variety of data- sources/tools, good knowledge of SAP.
  • A self-motivated, dependable, enthusiastic, flexible individual with excellent analytical, logical and organizational skills.
  • Able to make sense of the numbers and challenge the data, seeking and offering explanations.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail whilst delivering to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work well independently and within a team in a highly transactional company.
  • Fluency in written and spoken German and English
  • Knowledge of and/or experience in the Aviation sector will be considered an asset.
