We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Short-Term Planner to join our dynamic aircraft maintenance team. In this pivotal role, you’ll coordinate maintenance schedules, manpower, and materials to ensure our line stations operate seamlessly and aircraft return to service on time. Working closely with engineers, logistics, and operators, you’ll play a key part in driving operational efficiency, resolving challenges, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance in a fast-paced aviation environment.

Your Responsibilities

  • To work with the Senior Production Planning Engineer to produce maintenance input schedules for the Line Stations whilst liaising with the aircraft operator.
  • To assist with creating manpower plans and rosters to meet the tasking schedules.
  • To identify any shortfalls in manpower or certifying cover in advance of the situation arising.
  • To work with the Logistics department ensuring materials/parts are identified and supplied on time to facilitate an on-time return to service.
  • To generate quotations, coordinate maintenance events and monitor progress, highlighting any areas of concern.
  • To provide daily updates on progress to the operator and VistaJet Aircraft Maintenance (VAM) management.
  • To carry out frequent checks on work packages for completeness and ensure they are passed in a timely fashion to the operator.
  • To attend review meetings to identify areas of improvement.
  • To assist with producing information that allows analysis of performance, both physical and financial of the line Stations.
  • To organise with Logistics any MRT/OLMs that may require to be dispatched in terms of travel arrangements, risk analysis, airport passes and material, tooling required and to follow the progress of the MRT/OLM and pass the information to the operator.
  • To assess the request for a one-off authorisation and liaise with Compliance on whether it can be granted to our own engineer or one outside our organisation. All required information is to be collected and saved as required. Instructions on work order, DTL and HIL completion is to be passed on to the engineer and all paperwork is to be checked upon completion of maintenance.
  • To assist with collecting information required for robbing of parts and ensure a Form 1 is generated where required.
  • Any other reasonable request from management in line with the short-term planner role.

Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

Essential:

  • Educated to a minimum of ‘A’ level standard or equivalent experience in a relevant field of expertise.
  • Previous demonstratable experience working in an aircraft maintenance, production planning or airline environment.
  • Full computer literacy with experience of using Microsoft packages.
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written.
  • Able to demonstrate understanding of and ability to write technical text and drawings.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills.
  • Fast paced and dynamic approach.

Desirable:

  • Technical Support experience in aviation and able to demonstrate knowledge of airworthiness regulations (EASA).
  • Able to demonstrate product knowledge of the Bombardier Series aircraft.
  • Keen Commercial awareness.
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to make a technical assessment and decision with consideration to recognised standards using engineering knowledge.
  • Able to demonstrate diligence with a high attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Willing and able to perform as part of a team to achieve delivery targets.
