We are looking for an Accountant to join our Accounting team. Our team is responsible for the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual IFRS financial accounts and reporting as well as for local stand-alone financial statements and external reporting for all German region entities.

Your Responsibilities

  • Gain a detailed understanding of the Group’s business with particular emphasis on the assigned areas of responsibility as well as the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting timeframes, processes, and systems.
  • Take ownership of assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting tasks for the German entities and/or other areas of responsibility, including but not limited to adherence to the month end close timetable, processing of journals, review and reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts, completeness of accruals and prepayments, ensuring proper cost allocation and capitalisation etc.
  • Prepare and present analyses and explanations of financial results to management as required, highlighting key drivers and variances.
  • Provide external auditors with documentation, explanations, and analysis as necessary to assist with the smooth execution of annual audits.
  • Preparation and review of statutory financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Supporting and actively involved in continuous improvement initiatives to standardise and improve processes, reporting and controls, and implement best practice;
  • Assist in documenting, reviewing, and updating internal finance processes and procedures, ensuring efficiency and strong internal controls.
  • Maintain robust internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards.
  • Preparing ad hoc reports on matters relevant to the business as required by Vista Group and the local Management from time to time.
  • Understand the overall finance team objectives and assist team members as necessary in the wider interest of the team and its overall goals.

Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

  • A minimum of 3-5 years relevant working experience post qualification, preferably within an international organisation.
  • Proficient in the use of SAP and Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail whilst delivering to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical, logical and communication skills.
  • Able to make sense of the numbers and challenge the data, seeking and offering explanations.
  • Ability to work well independently and within a team in a highly transactional company.
  • The following would be considered an asset but not essential:
    • Knowledge of and/or experience in the Aviation sector.
    • Having an understanding of German accounting rules.
    • A degree of fluency in written and spoken German.
